Carleton Laboratory Launches New Website

03/27/2009

The management of Carleton Laboratory is pleased to announce the launch of its new website. The website can now be accessed by a single click from the main menu of the home page of the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics.

The new site provides a wealth of information on the lab's major equipment, teaching activities, as well as current research projects. Furthermore, it contains a section for the laboratory's safety and access policy, helpful to persons entering the field of experimental research for the first time. The website will also serve as a gateway to information about ongoing research activities as well as lab-supported student activities such as the AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition.

New interactive functionality includes:

  • Access request form - To be used by persons wishing to petition for access to Carleton Laboratory outside of normal business hours.
  • Integrated live scheduling of major equipment - All major equipment that may be reserved by (properly trained) students and faculty is equipped with a live schedule, allowing users to check availability of each machine at a glance.
