Professor Deodatis Elected President of International Association for Structural Safety and Reliability

Professor George Deodatis was elected the President of the International Association for Structural Safety and Reliability (IASSAR) by the Association's Executive Board, during the recent International Conference for Structural Safety and Reliability (ICOSSAR) in Osaka, Japan. He will serve in this position for the next four years.
The mission of IASSAR is to promote the study, research, and applications of scientific principles of safety, risk and reliability in the analysis, design, construction, maintenance and operations of structures and other engineering systems. The Association organizes the ICOSSAR conferences every four years and encourages activities promoting the study and applications of scientific principles and concepts of safety, risk, and reliability in engineering. It maintains a number of technical committees and awards a series of research prizes at the senior and junior level every four years during the ICOSSAR conferences.
