Prof. Christopher Bobko

Prof. Christopher Bobko recently joined the department of Civil,
Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State University after
completing his Ph.D. at MIT in 2008. He
received his M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT in 2005, and a
B.S.E. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University in
2003. Christopher Bobko’s research
program combines small-scale experimental techniques with multiscale modeling
of the complex porous composite materials often encountered in civil engineering,
including cements, rocks, and fiber-reinforced composites. The overall goal of
Christopher Bobko's research program is to discover and apply a new fundamental
understanding of civil engineering materials to improve their engineering
performance, including durability and sustainability, at multiple scales.
