Prof.
Victor N. Kaliakin
Prof. Victor N. Kaliakin is an Associate Professor of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware, where he has
served on the faculty since 1990. Professor Kaliakin received his
B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of
California at Davis, and his M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering and
Structural Mechanics from the University of California at Berkeley. He
has served as an associate editor of the Journal of Engineering
Mechanics of American Society of Civil Engineers, and as the Chair of
Inelastic Behavior Committee of ASCE Engineering Mechanics Division.
In addition to research in constitutive modeling of soils and
computational geomechanics, Professor Kaliakin has conducted research
on the constitutive modeling of polymeric reinforcement (geosynthetics)
and the numerical simulation of geotechnical problems involving
geosynthetics.
