Today marks the completion of the first major painting project of the Carleton Laboratory. The contract included the painting of the walls, ceilings, and ancillary mechanicals of the hi-bay area of the lab. With the repair of the faulty gap filler between Engineering Terrace and the Mudd Building, the extensive water damage on the north wall could finally be sealed and painted, a sustainable solution for a chronic problem.
The painted area also boasts the new signature colors of the laboratory, Swiss Coffee off-white (pun intended) and Evening Symphony deep blue for doors.
The summer will usher in the next major plant upgrade, which will include the painting of all walls, columns, ceilings, and mechanicals on the main floor (100 level) of the laboratory. This work is tentatively scheduled for late July to early August.
