The staff of the Carleton Lab is celebrating another milestone in the capital investment plan with the commissioning of its new Baileigh horizontal bandsaw. The new saw will replace two outdated machines that have served well past their useful lives, consolidating the tool fleet of the laboratory.
The new saw sports hydraulic-assisted gripping, blade tensioning, and cutting. The saw has an integrated coolant system and has a semi-automatic single-column control, ensuring accurate cutting of even large stock. This saw is not only more precise and faster than the previous models, it is also significantly safer to use.
