Project Network Dynamics Lab

Global Network Dynamics Lab

Projects are complex, global, and interdisciplinary efforts that require the
concerted effort of multiple organizations to be successful. Networks of
firms assembled to execute projects today face significant changes in their
business and operating environments. Successful project networks must
develop dynamic capabilities to adapt to these changes.

Dr. John Taylor leads the project network dynamics lab research which focuses on the global architecture, engineering and construction industry. The research group is currently focused on examining the trending increase in global outsourcing of complex engineering services, developing collaboration tools and enabling practices to support collaborative work in global virtual teams, and the dynamics of network structure on inducing energy efficient behavior in building users. Through a combination of in-depth field research, lab experimentation, and computational simulation modeling researchers in the Project Network Dynamics Lab develop practical organizational change strategies and technologies while extending theories of project networks.
