Over the last period of two years, we were lucky enough to have
produced three doctoral theses from the use of centrifuge modleing:
Logan Brant on the lateral loading of pile (geomechanics), Min-hao Wu
on the simulation of rainfall induced slope failure (geoscience,
geomechanics), and Yan Zhu on the air sparging study (geoenvironment).
Roberto Reale conducted centrifuge tests on the reinforced soil
retaining walls (geomechnics) for his diploma thesis submitted to the
University of Rome La Sapienza.
Our next phase of study is in progress. In addition to the graduate
students, we are also getting high school and undergraduate students
involved in the experimental simulation.
