Dr. Ibrahim Odeh Named as Top 20 Under 40 by ENR

The Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics department is pleased to announce that Dr. Ibrahim Odeh has been recognized by ENR New York among its 2018 Top Young Professionals. ENR’s Regional Publications invite people each year to nominate deserving, up-and-coming leaders working in the construction and design industries. Contestants are judged based on their industry experience, education, leadership skills and community service. This year, ENR New York received nearly 100 entries, from which 20 winners were chosen. Dr. Odeh was among those selected for this year’s Top 20 Under 40 in New York and he will be profiled in the January 2018 issue of ENR New York.

Dr. Odeh is currently the founding director of the Global Leaders in Construction Management (GLCM) at Columbia University. He has also worked on a number of consulting and advising projects with leading firms such as Skanska, Turner, AECOM, Dentons, Vertex Engineering, HAKS, STV, and many others. In addition, he serves as an industry expert and advisory committee member at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on a multi-year project focused on studying "The Future of Construction." Dr. Odeh is also an advisory board member at Financial Times in London on the “Future of Construction” Summit, as well as a member of several other advisory boards and committees such as: Smart City Works; Indus.ai; Initiafy; Columbia University Middle East Research Center; CG/LA Infrastructure; and AAAEA Tristate.

Dr. Odeh teaches several courses in the field of construction engineering and management and his main areas of teaching and research are Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Project Management. He also led a specialization focused on Construction Management which was hosted on Coursera and featured world-renowned guest presenters. The specialization drew over 32,000 global participants in one year, with approximately 400 new participants every week!
