Ioannis A. Kougioumtzoglou, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University, delivered an invited semi-plenary lecture at EURODYN 2026, the 13th International Conference on Structural Dynamics, held September 27–October 1, 2026, in Hannover, Germany.
His lecture, titled “Path Integrals in Stochastic Engineering Dynamics,” highlighted advances in path integral methodologies for analyzing complex stochastic dynamical systems. The presentation focused on overcoming fundamental computational challenges associated with high-dimensionality, nonlinear behavior, and uncertainty quantification, demonstrating how functional integral formulations can provide accurate and computationally efficient solutions to challenging problems in stochastic engineering mechanics.
EURODYN is a major international conference organized under the auspices of the European Association for Structural Dynamics (EASD), bringing together researchers and engineers to discuss advances in structural dynamics and related fields.
Congratulations to Professor Kougioumtzoglou on this distinguished invitation and his continued contributions to advancing research in structural dynamics and stochastic engineering mechanics!
