Diandian Zhao placed third in the Student Poster Competition at the American Ceramics Society (ACerS) 12th Advances in Cement-Based Materials meeting, which was held at University of California - Irvine by the ACerS Cements Division. Diandian's poster was entitled, "Stabilization of metastable calcium carbonate polymorphs in Portland cement systems," with co-authors Jonah Williams (EAEE), Prof Ah-Hyung (Alissa) Park (EAEE, CHEM), and Prof Shiho Kawashima (CEEM). The work is part of a project funded by NYSERDA that aims to upcycle waste concrete through carbon mineralization. Congrats Diandian Zhao!
