Gurpreet Singh Hora (PhD) Selected as a SEAS Teaching Fellow for Fall 2023

Gurpreet Singh Hora, a doctoral student in the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (CEEM), has been selected as a SEAS Teaching Fellow for Fall 2023 by Columbia Engineering. The SEAS Teaching Fellowship is a prestigious professional development opportunity that empowers Ph.D. students to share their knowledge and skills by leading a course under the guidance of a faculty member. This appointment provides students with meaningful teaching experience that will prepare them for careers in academia or leadership in industry.

 

As a Teaching Fellow, Gurpreet will be teaching an undergraduate Fluid Mechanics class under the mentorship of Professor Marco Giometto. Gurpreet is an active researcher in the Environmental Flow Physics Lab headed by Prof. Giometto, where he conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of computational fluid mechanics and machine learning. He is also a Lead Teaching Fellow at the Center for Teaching and Learning at Columbia and a recipient of the TA Excellence Award. He is committed to providing his students with the best possible learning experience.
