Professor Shiho Kawashima Elected as American Ceramics Society Fellow

Professor Shiho Kawashima is one of only thirteen elected to be a Fellow of the American Ceramics Society (ACerS) this year. The Fellow designation recognizes ACerS members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to the ceramics community by means of broad and productive scholarship in ceramic science and technology, conspicuous achievement in ceramic industry, and/or outstanding service to the Society. Professor Kawashima has served as the Chair of the ACerS Cements Division 2020-2022 and Conference Organizer for the annual ACerS Cements Division meeting in 2023 (hosted at Columbia University), and was awarded the ACerS Cements Division Early Career Award in 2022.

Professor Kawashima's research focuses on cement rheology, processing, and characterization, with recent efforts on emerging additive manufacturing and CO2 mineralization pathways. To read more about Professor Kawashima's experience, awards, and contributions to the field, please click here.
